Our brief was quite specific – the majority of their communications are done online, so the challenge was to create an environment in their meeting rooms that minimises distractions while enhancing user interaction and aligning with their brand aesthetic.
The brief challenged us to think outside the square and focus on interactions and usage within the meeting rooms. We researched various materials and translucency levels that could enhance privacy from both the wider office and the exterior environment.
Our solution was to design cocoon-like spaces featuring continuous, quilted panels which create a neutral background allowing meeting participants to be the focal point. Being quilted and tactile, the panels eliminate reflection and enhance sound absorption to reduce noise pollution.
Standalone quiet pods were also added to provide extra privacy/spaces while offering visual separation between the open office and presentation area. Customised fins have been added to the ceiling space adding additional acoustic value and complementing the simple, neutral visual aesthetic of the office.
